Students will collect visual materials, refine and process them, and express their understanding and observation of life and society in the form of Chinese painting.
Chinese Painting Studio Course examines and trains students’ comprehensive abilities, including form, colour, composition, and creativity, style, etc. Students will be guided and inspired to discover their creativity and apply their skills to the artistic expression of internal thoughts and feelings.
This course aims to expand students’ creative thinking, guide students to integrate and learn what they have learnt so that students can utilize the language of “Chinese painting” to express their inner thoughts and emotions.
Teachers need an advanced and wide range of creative ideas, a wealth of creative experience and professional skills and a large number of creative works to teach by example. For students, they should research on excellent works of past and modern, Chinese and western, and absorb a sense of aesthetic from different angles. It is essential for students to expand their horizons by watching videos, researching on various printed materials and original works.
This is a compulsory course for fine arts students. Prior to this, fundamental courses such as sketching, colour, portrait drawing, flowers, birds, and landscape should be completed.
